April 2010 is ending

April 2010 is ending and we are busier than ever! AND we like it! Sassy Girl Tees is shaking and BAKING!! like never before and we looooove it. We (SassyCakes by Sassy Girl Tees) are rising like the cakes we bake and we loooove it.
We were so glad to provide SassyCakes to the 2nd Annual West Coast Caribbean Fashion Show at the Historic Sweet's Ballroom in Oakland. Photo Shoot Done!

I won't lie, this will be a short entry. But I was reminded we had not posted anything for quite a while LOL...  I am tired. I just had a little nap, but I had been up since yesterday! Over 36 hours! We got our first photo shoot complete! It has been spectacular! Our Sassy Girls were out in full effect! It was a beautiful show of women and camaraderie and everyone did so well. I will post a few behind the scenes footage soon. Special thanks to Marie of Marie Denee for her helpful styling and Tim White, Ken and Kip for their wonderful professionalism and willingness to work with us And to Beautiful B and her makeup artists. I will be posting links to everyone's site, but i'm just too tired to do it right now. Geez this took a lot out of us, but it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it! We did it. The Sassy Girls made it all possible. Yay Team! :)

SASSY GIRLS SAY... KISS THE CURVES!

February 6th 2010! WE (Marna and I) attended Kiss the Curves, the first ever Plus-Size Fashion Gala in the Bay Area, This fashion show had some of the top plus-size designers in the fashion industry. The show was located in Oakland at the Historic Sweets Ballroom and it was fantastic!!

Tracie Collins Executive Producer, Plus Model, Actress, Writer!! GREAT!! It was a pleasure to meet Tracie!! She is has such a warm personality. Tracie had an excellent team of people!! You could feel the love and support in the room. The show was hosted by Sterling James of KBLX (we all love Sterling James of 102.9 KBLX)

The Models were absolutely beautiful! They strutted down that cat walk with excitement in their eyes. The show was fabulous. Everyone on board with Kiss the Curves had it going on.

Intermission time was like a concert, Ashley Tremnell, Samantha Jones and De-Ann Lott SANG! yes S.A.N.G.!!

I left the show feeling inspired and proud that I had witnessed absolute splendor and beauty!

Let's just say at the end of the night I felt like telling the world to KISS MY CURVES!

Vinyl Pressing

Hey all!
I am back after a brief break. I had to get Sassy Work together. It is A LOT of work trying to get this photo shoot together. We have such a major a need for personal assistants, its' not even funny! If you are a fashion student needing to fulfill an internship requirement at school in San Francisco, please let us know SERIOUSLY! Until then... **sigh** This photo shoot has become an entity on its own... I think i have gone crazy (no really,... this time... LOL...) Praying and believing everything will fall into place as it has done thus far.

Okay, so today I wanted to talk about vinyl heat pressing. Why? You ask, well that's how our wonderful Sassy Girl Tees are gonna be made. After researching we found vinyl heat pressing is one of the best forms of heat pressing out there. It will far outlast even silk screening when cared for properly. PLEASE REMEMBER WHEN WASHING YOUR SHIRTS, THEY MUST BE WASHED IN COLD OR WARM WATER AND HANGED TO DRY!

Back to talking about this process. Another reason we chose this process was to be able to print in smaller quantities and offer more variety, and have a little more control over things. Also a great reason to produce our shirts this way is to allow for customization. Yes! In the near future we will be able to offer some customizable shirts! I think that is one of the most exciting things ever! Imagine not only getting a Sassy Tee, but getting it the way you want?! I think its a great beginning. In fact around March you can look forward to very specially priced promo shirts available through our blog site! We will be producing a number of shirts specially priced for promotion. Its a win win.. You get our shirt almost at cost, and we get a lil promotion in the process. Be proud! Be Sassy! In fact, I think MY next blog will be talking about Our philosophy behind Sassy Girl Tees, and the Sassy Girl Lifestyle and Culture. What fun!

About The Shirts We Use...

Happy MLK Day Everyone! Celebrate this day off by remembering one of our greatest Civil Rights Heroes! One of our greatest American Heroes! I am blessed enough to have the day off from my regular work, but I'm "Day On" for my Sassy Work. So Here I am to talk to you about our shirts, the quality and workmanship of what we are trying to make sure we give to you. We have struggled for some time trying to find the shirts we want to use to print our beautiful Sassy's. In fact it has taken over a year. Some might think just find some shirts and print right?! Wrong! There is sooo much more to it! And so I am going to share it with you. A little bit about at least. On one trial run of shirts did not provide consistency of quality. Hems unraveled, the overall lengths were too short, it was a mess, crappy shirts. On another trial run of shirts we got the length and hems together but the sizing was off. Grrrrr! The XL fit like a medium--- seriously! The L fit like a small! Geez! What gives?! As clothing company owners we want to make sure that when we start selling shirts that we get consistent sizing, fit and cut. From the size Small to the Plus sized! So the hunt was on to find a decent shirt with consistent sizing and quality of workmanship! We want to eventually hire our own pattern makers and manufacture our own shirts, but that's all in due time! With your support we'll be doing that sooner than later! GO TEAM SASSY!
Back to the story-- well almost nine months later We have our shirts! We found a manufacturer we believe to have all of the qualities we want for our Sassy Girl shirts and will be working to sell you the first shirts through our blog with in the next few weeks. Hooray! Be on the look out to be one of the first to wear Sassy!

 Hey all its MarnaBaby!
I just wanted to let you know how excited we are to be prepping for our first sassy girl photo shoot. We have to get photos ready for our website, so we are scrambling to get t shirts made and get our models together so we will have some nice images for our website! If you will be out and about in the beautiful city of San Francisco on February 20 (weather permitting) come say hey to us we will be shooting on the streets mostly, but not sure where yet. You will just have to find us! :)
We have SO many things coming at us at once, that i don't even know if my head is screwed on right. Its literally spinning :) We are preparing for our Blog Talk Radio show February 1st and March 1st. Planning on attending some industry gala events and just really become "one with the people" as QD would say *wink* We are literally planning on TOTAL WORLD DOMINATION!!!!! on a shoe string budget (for now) lol.
We are blessed to be having things come together as crazy as it is. God is bringing all the people we need across our paths and they are really excited to be working with us and really excited about what we are about and our "sassy agenda."
Wow, what else is happening? Hmmm we have meetings, plans, fittings, events and everything coming out our ears. Oh yeah did I mention that if You happen to live in SF or the East Bay in association with Koi Entertainment, we will be powering an Adult Game/Pleasure Party Night every first Tuesday night of the month Starting February 2? Yeah that too. We will be selling shirts there as well starting in March 2, but we will have our toys and sexy, delicious mini cupcakes and bite cakes, so please come out and support us (Flier coming soon)! Its a fun night to come out and play cards, dominoes, Wii, have good conversation and enjoy a low key evening out without all the hoopla.
February 6 we were invited by The Curvy Fashionista and are scheduled to attend Kiss The Curves in Oakland, The Plus Size Fashion Event. So we are getting very excited! And VERY busy! Whew! Are we ready? YES!
